Freight disruptions for Gold Coast Customers
During the Commonwealth Games
Advice from TNT
Dear Valued Customer,
As you may be aware, the Gold Coast will host the 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) from Wednesday 4 April to Sunday 15 April.
For safety and security reasons, some areas near GC2018 venues will have restricted vehicle access in the lead up to and during the Games. This means there will be numerous road closures and traffic changes – some of which may happen with little or no notice.
We have been working closely with Games organisers and key stakeholders in order to plan operational contingencies during this period and minimise the impact to you and your customers.
If you are located on the Gold Coast:
have reallocated our driver runs around scheduled road closures and
traffic changes in order to deliver our usual high standard of service
to you and your customers. In the event we cannot deliver to or pick-up
from a certain location, we will work with you and your receivers
establish the best way of delivering your shipment – even if that’s on
- Your usual pick-up and delivery times may vary but we are working hard to minimise this.
have extended our customer collection hours at our Gold Coast depot, so
that you can collect your shipments between 9:30am and 7pm, Monday to
- As space will be limited, we’re making extra room by storing our bulk shipments in a new facility.
- To arrange collection of your shipments, please contact our Customer Care team on 13 11 50 at least 24 hours in advance. Collection will be from our TNT Gold Coast depot located at 16 Reichert Drive, Molendinar.
We’re working separately with customers who may be significantly impacted by the Games to put in place any specific requirements.
